Ka Yan Cheung was born in Hong Kong and grew up in NYC. She comes from a family of garment, restaurant, and homecare workers, and watching her family struggle each day moved her towards radical politics. Ka Yan spent eight years doing community and labor organizing in the San Francisco Bay Area. Comics is her favorite medium, because she considers it an art for the people.
